We are renovating an existing shed for our coop, and I was thinking I would screen the windows (inside coop) with wire mesh, and have the windows hinged at the top (outside) and bump out at the bottom - any thoughts ? I was thinking this would be good in case it rains...rather than bumping them open into the coop at the top (hinged at the bottom.)

Hope this makes sense...I've been pouring through coop photos and seen all different ways.

Oh good! Thanks for responding - operation coop reno will be in full swing this weekend!
I'll post pics soon

Works well for me. I placed a hinge inside on the bottom window sill and attached it to a piece of cedar that flips out and keeps the window open.
