Renting land, or keeping animals while in college.

Is it possible to rent just land from someone (not a house/room ect)? I know people do it with hundreds of acres, but what about just a few (5-10). I've seen small lots for sale, but they're always zoned commercial or residential. Specifically, I'm wondering about areas around Madison, WI, but any information is good. Is there some website where small agriculture zoned lots are listed? And do you have to do anything special to stay zoned agriculture? I don't need any land yet, I'm just planning what do to with my critters if I do end up going to University of Wisconsin at Madison.

If I were you, I'd contact a real estate agent in/near where you are planning to go to school-they'd probably be able to help answer your questions.

Ok, I'll look into that. In the meantime, has anyone else here successfully kept their creatures while attending college?
