Hi! So I have become interested in having our own backyard chickens and have started looking into the cost of the startup but I can't seem to figure out where to find the regulations for having backyard chickens. Also, is there any thing else I need to consider when starting our own coop? Thank you!

and the wonderful world of chicken keeping :) The Learning Center is a great place to start if you're looking for start up information.

you can look up the laws and ordinances usually at the city website under animal laws and regulations. Most cities do not allow roosters, for instance, my city allows up to 5 household "pets" and chickens and rabbits are included even though they are barnyard animals. I bought a coop for 350 but it's a great wire enclosed huge moveable one. I'm sure you can make one with plans off this site for less.
