I got a "new in box' hovabator off ebay (of course).

Noticed when I brought it off the porch (ups) that it had brown tape over a crumbled corner, and was not packed inanother box ,only the retail off the shelf packaging.(duh). I didn't open it till today(

and have a nice new hovabator with a crack in the corner(rounded part of the base) that is about 5". I also noticed the shipping receipt was shoved into the crumpled edge....(duh????). Hubby noticed that the shipping label, nice and straight and uncrumpled was over the crumpled edge.... I have notified the seller before I leave feedback, but there is a 3 day window for returns , I may be outside of it....

because I had been gone and noticed the box on porch too late.
So if we can't reconcile it, and I keep it, what is the best way to repair a crack like that in styrofoam?

You can but the replacement tops and bottoms online @ GQF Manufacturing if the seller will not help you. The parts list for $10.80 each.

thanks , nice to know you can get replacement parts, turns out the ebay guy,(always go with high number ratings!

is sending me another. I also read about the glues here(silicone, or elmers or expanding foam) , which I should have searched first

, I had put eggs in crawlspace in a box and bag ,dated waiting to put in it so instead of some being a week old , a few may be up to 10-12 days old. I may go rotate them daily until I get them in the incubator.. -...Unfortunately my mini-silver applyard may have quit laying for the year.....

, but my Overberg mini is still laying... and she brooder two runners last year, so we shall see....

I am glad to here you was able to work something. I would hate to have won a auction and not be able to use it.
