Replacing rooster

My rooster has become aggressive and as I have a small child he must be replaced. I was wondering will my ladies be alright for a week or so until I find a new rooster? In addition how should I do the introductions? I have a small flock 5 hens, rooster and one random male guinea hen.

How old is your roo? It might just be a phase. Oh and it’s a guinea fowl, only the females are hens.

With a small child, I would skip the rooster. With only 5 hens, I would skip the rooster .

The hens would probably be fine without the rooster, but it could also depend on how old they are.

They will be fine without a rooster.If you want to introduce another do it in a cage side by side.

I have a small child too and I am not having a rooster (unless one of my hatchlings turns out to be an amazingly gentle one otherwise it is coq au vin) for that reason - just not worth the risk of him being hurt IMO. I'm not worried about fertile eggs - I buy hatching eggs when I need them and my big girls are totally fine without a rooster. Why are you worried that they 'need' one?

My grandkids play in the same yard my chickens do. I have had several roosters with absolutely no problem from the rooster. Now the GK chasing the birds,,, well,,,
If your rooster is less than 1 YO he needs to grow up. I let cockerel grow up in a bachelor pad. He would be in site of the flock so the others can visit him, but no touching. (I prefer 2YO)
To bring in a new roo, I put them in a bachelor pad where they can see visit but not touch. After a period of time (so I know he is a healthy bird) I swap him in at night (because its easier for me). He can visit through the night with the girls, and get up with them (get them up) in the morning.
Do you have to have a rooster, only if you want chicks. The ladies will still lay, (maybe not as much), and do just fine. One of the ladies may become dominate and take on the job the roo would do. (including mating)

The girls will be fine, probably happier.

I'm in the skip the rooster if you have a little one crowd. Roosters are just too iffy and so are little ones "not a good combo". Your girls will be just fine, little warning though without a rooster your hens will squat for YOU directly in your path sooo watch your step.
