View attachment 1365599 I know i have probably bugged you all to death with my millions of questions, but you guys help this 1st time girl better than any Google search. Out of 39 jumbo quail born so far, I have had issues with 3. 1 was too weak to stand and hardly moved as well as being super tiny. I cuddled her and stood her up in my hands every hour or 2 until bed time. When I woke she was wobbly but better. Baby 3 had some weird issue with his foot that had us flatten it out on a bandaid and place another on top, I still apparently need to band the knees. Now baby 3 is strong with no visible reasons as to why he can't stand. I had to help him from his shell as I could see real issues with him struggling. As soon as I got him out I noticed his beak was a bit crooked, but I put him in the incubator fearing he would die from being extracted. Now he is super storng, active, kicking and trying to get up. He gets his feet on something good enough he sits up, but then falls back over. He keeps trying and hasn't given up, but he can't eat or drink for falling on his side. It's been almost 24 hours and I'm getting concerned. I have tried to work him like I did the 1st baby, but his issue is not weakness. What can I do? I would hate to have come this far with him to loose him to not being able to drink or eat. My husband says it's too cruel to let him go on much longer, he advises we end any possible sufferings from lack of food and water by tomorrow afternoon

I am not familiar with any of that stuff. I assumed that was where the legs spread out. He can get them behind himself. He actually is strong with the legs and falls over as soon as he forces himself up. Does it still sounds like that?

Now that you say that, I'm thinking maybe not splayed leg... I can't think of anything else. I'm so sorry!

Thank you for the reply any way. I guess I have to come to terms with loosing him tomorrow. I know he will die anyway if he can't eat or drink. He hasn't even been to the bathroom like the other chicks already have:(
