I have 2 Chochin Bantams, 1 roo, 1 pullet (6 weeks old0. They are out all day in the coop with 1 meat hen (14 weeks). She accepts them now after 2 days. I bring them in at night for the brooder in the house. I live in north Georgia and the nights are in the high 50's low 60's now. i have 2 more chicks at 3 weeks I am wanting to transfer to the older chicks brooder. I have a 'Chicken Cabin" (for 4 to 6 Bantams), if anyone is familiar with this type of coop, it is not real big and is open with galvanized steel at the perch sites, top and bottom. I figured I could train them to go into the semi-closed top, eventually (the meat hen did. I put a nesting box in the run (next to the coop), and the meat hen thinks it is her bed!..So does anyone think I should put the 6 week olds out yet??...HELP!..I did not know raising 3 sets of chickens could be so difficult.

I would.. If they're fully feathered..! I have pens for all the stages... Nursery(newly hatched), brooder (1-2 weeks to about 5 weeks), Growing pen(5-6 wks until the larger ones accept them), then the coop! The soonest they can go outside they're there!!!! I HATE THE DUST AND SMELL!!

Thanks to ALL of you!!!..
