In the Brooder
Hello all! Our flock has been battling fowl pox for the last month or so. It has primarily been dry fowl pox, and we have been managing by adding vitamins to their water, putting Vetericyn and Hen Healer on the spots, and keeping the coop clean.
It’s been running its course and I thought we were almost in the clear, but on one of my Lavender Orpington hens (one year old) it has progressed to what I believe to be wet fowl pox. I separated her so that I could monitor her better. We gave her an oral dose of 1cc Poultry Cell, 250mg of Fin Mox (fish antibiotics), and continuing to treat the skin with Vetericyn and Hen Healer. So far, she is eating and drinking ok, and her behavior seems normal.
Has anyone been through this that could advise anything further we could be doing for her? Thanks in advance!
