Help! Last weekend I took in a pair of peafowl, male and female from a guy who, due to illness, had been neglecting them. They were in muddy pens, with no way to get out of the mud that I could see. The male's tail feathers appear to be rotting/rotted off. Do I need to do anything for this, or just let them molt and grow back next year, or do I need to get them off him somehow? It's sort of hard to describe, but it kind of just looks like a bunch of the middle part of the feathers hanging out his back end, no "feather" to them. Thanks!!
