My 6 month old turkeys have symptoms extremely similar to fowl pox- they have yellow growths on their heads that turn black and crusty, smelly, thick, clear discharge from nostrils and one of them has red swollen sinuses and one watery eye. However, it's winter in South Africa and there's no mosquitoes!
So what could it be?
My chickens live with my turkeys and they're not affected, neither are the older turkeys.
Please help, I can't find any set of symptoms other than fowl pox that fits this disease.
I'm really concerned about this growth. It's growing onto the inside of his mouth!
This turkey has only one swollen sinus and watery eye. The other side is fine.

i'd keep the infected in there own pen make sure they get lots of water and sunlight. i had turkeys that had swollen head and sinus infections before lost 2 of them 1 survived. lucky my flock now never got it. Is their pen outdoors? Also if you have ducks keep them away same with chickens. Chickens have more strong immune systems but you don't wanna risk it specially if you eat the eggs. Check you feed store they may have some vitamins you can put in the water. only other option is call a vet and pay a huge bill.
