Respiratory Infection? What do you think?

Yes, that sounds like stridor. It may go away overnight, at least I hope so. It does usually, and a small piece of feed may have been inhaled. I had a hen who had this a couple of times, right after eating eagerly. It always was gone by the next morning. So let us know if she is better then.
Thank you so much for all your knowledge!! :love:fl

I have an “older” hen, 6ish years old that sounds like she’s having a hard time breathing and is making a small sneezing sound every so often. I can’t upload a video but it almost sounds like she’s wheezing in and then wheezing out.
When is the last time she laid an egg?
It does sound like stridor, but I would also make sure her crop is emptying overnight.

I have a 7 year old hen that lays every once in a while, but she is starting to show some signs of reproductive problems with a bit of fluid in the abdomen and her crop is slow to empty at times. When she's having a little difficulty, she makes a sound similar to your hen. I have yet to drain her since the symptoms come and go, but do check to see that her crop empties, if it doesn't then I address that following this article https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

She laid yesterday. I updated that in my original post :)

Good news everyone! She sounds normal this morning! Bright eyed and bushy tailed LOL.
