Hello everyone,
Happy winter ❄️
as winters come my girl health issues are arise.
unfortunately now she is suffering from breathing issue again.
she is eating fine but little bit diffulty in drinking. she is opens her mouth sometimes for breathing and but she is breathing heavily everytime.
i thought something is stuck in her throat so i always give her a deep water bowl so she can dip her head and clear all inside but it isn't working.
yesterday she was breathing so heavily so i urgently call her vet and tell him all her situation and her regular vet said it's because of dehydration. but I'm not satisfied as she is poping almost fine and eating and drinking so i call up another vet and he said she is breathing heavily because of this season.
i have noticed my girl getting weight on her lower side i thought its was swelled but not.
she aslo on her moulting process.
now I'm confused is she having dehydration or having viral.
2nd vet prescribed me to give her antibiotics to get rid from this viral.
besides all this I'm treating her manually by giving her steam 3 times a day.

please help me out what will i do?
here I'm attached a video of her.

Could she be egg bound by chance ?
I have 11 girls and none of mine are having breathing issues with the change in weather and mine are also finishing a molt
Do you provide oyster shells for calcium
I put them out in winter regardless as many ducks will still key through winter the first year I’m getting 3-4 eggs a day and 4 of my 11 are just hitting laying age and haven’t started yet
My pekin didn’t break last winter at all she finally is on a break as of a few weeks ago after 14 months straight

@Dulzura how old is your duck? since she is on an antibiotic give it at least 3 days before you see improvement. Could take longer. Make sure she has fresh water constantly and you should probably pick up a probiotic for her tummy since antibiotics kill off good and bad bacteria.
Can you buy Vet RX there? It's a good one for when one of our birds has breathing problems. It's similar to Vicks vapor rub us humans use if congested. It's liquid.

Good to hear your girls are fine ☺️
But mine is not laying egg and I don't think so she have egg bound because i don't feel any different behavior. For calcium i give lysovit syrup which is prescribed by her vet. It's very hard to search for a oyster shells as it's no common in my area.

My girls is about 9 years old. Yes vet rx is available here can you please tell me how will i give it to her i mean in water or ? Can i use norsaline-p ( nasal drop)?

@Miss Lydia can you also suggest me to do about her instant increase in weight? Her lower body is much heavy but i don't feel a single part it's overall heavy she is not laying and almost her molting process is about to end.
