Retired Hatchery birds?

So I was thinking of getting some hatchery breeders once they are done hatching chicks for the season. The hens will be approx 11months old. I will just have them for personal enjoyment and eggs. Thoughts?

They only charge $6 at least thats what the lady said. Im excited its a good way for me to add some color to my flock. Can't wait till June

How will you integrate these ladies with the rest of your flock?
I was at the poultry farm near here today and saw several retiring hatchery hens and thought the same thing. Would it be best to get two or more so they can settle in easier? Is there a thread here already covering this topic?

I am actually getting a whole new coop and starting a new flock so these ladies would be the first occupants.
