Hello again all!
I was MIA for ... I'm not sure how many months now, but I think I'm back... I had some family issues that took practically ALL my time, in the process, I lost access to the web, and dropped out of sight. I did have occasional access at a friends, but I had no energy I'm afraid, I peeked in once or twice, just couldn't stay long and couldn't jump in with the way things were for me. I also apologize to the quilt block group that I totally left hanging, I really should have found a way to let you all know I was away from computer access let alone sewing machine access... my bad I know.
I took up knitting while I was on my long AFK. I'm terrible at it but it is much more portable than sewing and quilting!
I'm down to 12 hens, 4 easter eggers, and 8 golden comets. I'll be slowly building back up to between 20 and 30 as I find some nice ones. I found good homes for the rest, (no, not freezer camp! LOL ) I hope to find a Buckeye Rooster and a couple hens so I can contribute in a small way to the Ohio breed. Also maybe some nice Wyandottes and or a couple NH Reds because I want a few broodies around. I like a nice colorful flock nattering around the yard... I have to say that the ones I wound up keeping also kept me laughing even while things weren't great... they are extra sweet just now I think because there's so few and they try to follow me everywhere. I took some eggs to the neighbor and they tried to follow me because they thought the egg carton must be treats for THEM. Picture me with 12 hens trotting behind me down the road! I had to go back, scatter some scratch then sneak back away so I could get down the road without them!
Anyway, it's nice to see so many familiar names and all the new members. WHAT FUN!
