Not really sure where to post this so sorry if its wrong.
I have a hamster and I clean him out every Friday night. He only ever poops/pees in one or two corners and is in a tank not a cage although I cant think what difference that makes..
Anyway! I hate throwing out the sawdust when there is nothing really wrong with it. As I can pick up the clean parts avoiding the toilet areas in the corners, do you think it would be okay to reuse in my chicken coops in their nest boxes? I current use straw because when my uncle first gave me chickens, he bought that with him and said he uses that but I see a lot of people using sawdust and was wondering if I could reuse the old shavings, when I run out of straw or simply just instead?
My hamster has always been in perfect health and I can't see what he might pass onto them?
Just want to get more for my money really.
