I've never been able to sex any of my RIR at hatch, but the cockerels are pretty obvious before they are a month old.

Could you tell me the characteristics of the cockerels please? I have 3 RIRs that are about 6 weeks and I'd like to figure out if I have layers or crowers...

Hi does anyone know if Rhode Island Red chicks are auto sexing?

They are not, but in my experience it’s easy to tell early on bc of comb size... I knew my cocks from pullets after about a week - cocks had huge combs.
