Hi Attached is my one and only Chick - 4 days old.

I think he is a RIR ... I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what sex it is from the image of its wing feathers in the image - thanks

Feather sexing isn't universal. A slow feathering strain must be mated to a fast feathering strain.

Perhaps you could wait until the chick is 6 weeks old and by then, the sex becomes a bit more detectible. The males usually sprout red combs and wattles, beginning at that age, while the females do not.

I don't think it's RIR.... it has blackish feathering.... and maybe a roo... but can't really tell from this age...
