Rhode Island Red Hens???

Hello,

I went to a chicken auction today and bid on and won a pair of 2 RIR hens (which would make them over a year).
When we got them and got a good look at them, they are the size of my 3 month old pullets and smaller than my 6 month old RIR pullets.
No one has tried to crow yet and I haven't gotten an egg.
They're a little wet from the rain, but can anyone confirm these are HENS???

hmmmn probably why they sold them then, I think productions stop laying pretty early.
I was told RIR

They look like hens to me, but it is very hard to tell with those wet feathers. My production reds are 2 and 3 years and are still going strong, they lay every other day instead of every single day but they are also extremely healthy.
