I've asked about these two before... But it wasn't clear if they were males or females. So here are pictures of them today. They are almost 5 months old. I'm worried that they are roos because I saw the two of them spat a bit out in the yard today....

These first two are "Harriet"

This one is of Little Red.

And here is one of one of my Barred Rock's, Reggie. This one's tail is different than my other barred's tail... So I'm not sure.

Thanks!

They may very well be hatchery RIR rather than production reds - just a slip of the fingers on my keyboard.
Very nice recovery. LOL

They are indeed cockerels. True bred Rhode Island Reds cannot be purchased from the average feed store or ordered from a hatchery. But then, neither can true Araucanas. Hatcheries breed and sell birds said to "represent" the breeds. Are they inexpensive, healthy and easily available? Yes they are. For most people, that's all they're looking for and are happy enough with them.

The barred bird is likely a pullet as sourland said.

Ok. Yeah, pretty sure that they're from a hatchery.

I'm never buying chicks again. All of my chicks were sold to me as pullets, so far I've had three cocks.
