Chickens are now legal in Barrington, RI, and I have been enjoying mine legally in Providence for 10 months or so. This is from the Providence Journal earlier this month:
Chickens are an animal whose time has come, according to Ken Ayars, chief of the state Division of Agriculture. He estimates that approximately half of Rhode Islands 39 cities and towns have regulations that permit chickens. I have three chickens myself, he said.
Let's hope the rest of Rhode Island (and the country) goes with the flow.
