I hatched some rhodebar eggs about 5 wks ago. There were those that were obviously male, having that big spot on the head and the very light body and then there were those that were obviously female with no spot and the darker color and dark lines around eyes, just like they should be but then there was this one.....it had a small white spot on the head ( smaller than on the other males), darker body coloring and eye markings although the body color and eye markings weren't as dark as the ones I knew were female. I wasn't sure if it was a male or female but now that it's a few wks old, I can say it's a male. This chick is one of the nicest of the males at this point and I might would consider keeping it for breeding however I am wondering if it should be culled from breeding because of the atypical markings. Thanks for any comments!
