Like to get 3 more female Chickens to our small flocks. Might look in to teen age Chicken . Not sure baby chickens. Kind same age but heathy. Like older ones we have. That are 2 , 3 years old we have.

1 white longhorn my be. But not sure about the other breeds .Husband. has experienced with chickens might have go by want he wants ,we well see look into egg laying hens .We got 2 Rhoned iland red and one is 1 white long horn she kind small friendly shy. Like want we have.Get more information see want with my husband he likes this too.

If you are interested in colored eggs, there are several breeds that lay blue or green eggs. There are even breeds that lay really dark chocolate brown colored eggs

Not sure about other breeds .We like brown eggs like white eggs . They taste really good fresh. My husband not instituted in other fancies breeds. Easy laying eggs that are hardy that can stand cold climates.

Buff Orpington- easy to obtain,heavily feathered/good in the cold, lay a lot of brown eggs.

white Plymouth Rocks or Barred Plymouth Rocks are also easy to get, good layers, brown eggs.

white Leghorns, heavy layers of white eggs. A tend to be skittish/flightier than the two above.

Rhode Island Red: also good layers, as you know.

Where are you located? I’m in Ohio and I could order started pullets from Meyer Hatchery, then drive to pick them up (to save in shipping). Other hatcheries offer started pullets, so you might be within reasonable driving distance to a hatchery. Meyer started pullets are around $12-15/ per pullet, very reasonable bc they are around 16 or so weeks old when you get them, and will begin to lay within a few weeks. They sell started pullets if common breeds, good layers.

In our are area i can only have 6 Chickens no Rosters. I have 3 hens right now .I have to be careful of cost of things right now and my husband wants to be included on next 3 we pick of we get more. Later we have taken care of want we have for now. Just getting some information on this for now. So thank for now.
