RI Red losing feathers

my Red has been losing feathers on the front of her body; the area (most of her front) is red and inflamed. HELP!!

How old is it? Plus a bit more about your chickens and your setup is needed, and a picture would be helpful too.

Pics? How old? Is she laying? Have you looked for external parasites? Note: My Bella (head honcho best-flock-leader-ever) is molting right now. Been a lotta flock change and it's hot as hell here. Pics would really help determine if is really is inflamed or typical molting or broody behavior. And you have my sympathy. Being unsure about what's going on is scary. Welcome to BYC. Would be great if it was better circumstances, right? But the folks here are amazingly helpful.
