My name is Richard and I have my chickens at my grand parents rural farm. I am fairly new to raising chickens although I had two chickens four years ago. I enjoyed hand raising them and now have five chickens, seven new chicks and a new Rooster. They are assorted breeds and I'm trying to learn how to better take care and keep them safe. I have lost a couple to neighborhood dogs and king snakes have gotten to some chicks and the eggs. Just killed a snake today.

Yes, please check out the predator threads for ideas on safeguarding your flock. For dogs and other 4 footers you could set up hot wire fencing. Usually one good ZOTZ is enough to keep them away. They don't forget a bite like that.
