Hey!

My name's Tayler, and ducks are basically my spirit animal. I've always been extremely fond of the little quackers and I have been dying to get some my whole life, but I have never lived in a place where I thought it would be fair to the ducks to have some. However, I have finally moved into a new house, with a nice high fence and a grassy backyard and after months of research and lurking this website, I decided to take the plunge!

I now have two gorgeous pied muscovies, one three weeks old and the other two weeks. They have yet to be named but I'm open to any suggestions!

I just wanted to introduce myself on here, considering as a first time duck owner I am sure to be asking heaps of questions! Hope you and your ducks/chooks are all having a great day!

so glad you have joined us and congratulations on getting you ducklings.

You may be interested in the ducks forums.

I think if you just watch their personalities as they grow, the names will fit better. I had lists of names for my chicks, but each told me what they wanted to be called :)

But how about Esther (Williams) if female, Donald(Duck) if male?
Quacker is a good one. Ducky or Duckie sounds cute?

Good luck with all, enjoy the adventure.

If the ducks are male and female, how about Mickey and Minnie? (Get it, 'cause it's opposite of what you might expect, Donald and Daisy) - When I was growing up, my mom had two ducks, and that's what we named ours.

There is a great forum on here for duck owners:

I'm sure you'll find everyone very friendly and helpful! Congrats on the new house, and enjoy the ride!

Hey Sunflour, thanks for the advice :) I agree about the personality naming, they definitely have some growing to do, and I don't know their sexes yet! I'll definitely check out the duck forums, thanks for the advice! x

My what a difference in size between the 3 wk.old and the 2 wks. Either they grow that fast, or maybe the big one is a male. For people who really have their ducks, in a row, head for the "Other Backyard Poultry" forum above, and post on the duck threads. I'm sure the folks there can answer your questions.
