Right day for lockdown?

I know, by the unwritten law of incubating it should be day 18. However, I had trouble with some temp spikes early on. If I spot an internal pip when candling, surely I begin lockdown immediately?

Yah, I would, although if they are duck eggs, you may not need to, my ducklings seem to internally pip a 1-2 days before they externally pip. Good Luck!
