They will lay eggs in any state when they get there.

No really, it's hard to say. My hens did not start laying before May last year and this year they started in February, and it was a lot colder this year.

Times two on that, every year my rios were totally diffrent when it came to laying eggs. one year early, the next year late, but it was ussually around the end of march or early april was probably a good average for my birds. I live in utah so not to far off from idaho. If this is there first breeding season then it might take them a little longer, also sometimes yearling hens wont nest or breed there first year but in captivity i think they do more then not.
