Gerda Jumbo Pekin.
DOB : Unknown
DOD: 09/12/2024

I knew she was a old lady after some extensive research on how to see Pekins age but it didn't make it hurt any less when I've had her for over a year. I believe the flock is fine, I'm just a little worried about the mallard drake that followed my old lady since non of the other girls seems interested in him. I currently don't have enough female friends for both my drakes and well we all know how a mallard drake is.

Though they are coping I myself find itit hard as I only own them as pets and incubate eggs maybe 2-3 times a year (hobby breeding).

I do currently have 7 ducklings that's between a month and 1nHalf months of age so I know I'll be keeping some of the females but they are still young and stick together instead of completely socializing with the adult ducks.

All in all, I knew her time was close... I am happy that when I bought Gerda, Sari and Sassy Susan at the auction house, I could give them the space to free range, a entire wooden house just for them and loads of food and love.

RIP Fluffy Friend

Gerda was lucky to have you in her life; I'm sorry you couldn't have had more time together.

Bless you for giving her the best possible "golden years" and for providing her, Sari and Sassy Susan with a loving home.

Gerda will clearly and certainly be missed.
