will 5 week old RIR pick on 1 year old buffs and do they mix good like that or should they a part in the coop but they will be free range .

I wouldn't mix 5 week old anything with 1 year old birds. Your 1 yr olds might eat or kill the 5 week olds. You can divide the pen between them so they can get to know each other through a fence while the young ones grow a bit more.
