I recently sold my original 4 RIR at around 1 y.o. I purchased them @ 3 day old. They were very friendly, but 1 kept flying over the run fence which made my wife unhappy as they kept scattering the mulch around plants & digging up her garden. I recently purchased 6 new RIR @ 6 weeks old. Their eye color is different from the original 4 & have darker feathers. I noticed they seem to enjoy wet feed so I started wetting a portion of their feed. I'll gradually introduce them to layer feed, leafy vegetables & other stuff at around 18-20 weeks. Is there a grinder to grind Oyster shells into coarse powder? I think the stuff I buy may be too hard to dissolve. I clean their cage, apply sand to the floor once per week & change their water every day. Is anyone affected or concerned about the avarian illness?
