Anybody care to gender this RIR chick? I think about 2-3 weeks old.

Whoops! I put in three photos but only the last showed. If it's too early I'll hold off on other photos, but yeah... there's nothing wrong with her appetite! I have an EE chick with her and she's just a little butterball, it's almost appalling how much they eat :D

If you have more pics, then please post them. Sometimes when peeps see pics like the first one it gets kinda hard to say anything because we can't identify with a pic like that! :) I mean no offense either:)

The photo is of no value, but given it's age, it is too early in any case. At 6 or 7 weeks, the males will begin to sprout red combs and red wattles. The females will not. That is the age to sex most single combed birds, including yours.

Looks healthy and chubby. LOL

Still cute as a bug. But, same message.

It sure is cute but way to young to tell gender! Fred's hens gave you a great time frame for posting new pictures of the chickens. If a comb starts developing before that time by all means please post it! Have you checked out all BYC has to offer? So many great things to see and do!

I'm still learning and searching the forums. I saw where somebody had posted that RIR roos usually have comb and tail development earlier than their female hatch mates, but I just have the two so not much to compare by. I'm in the same boat as a lot of city limits chicken folks in that no roos are allowed so I'm afraid of getting all attached and then having to re-home her.

Also, thanks for all the quick replies. Sorry I'm still clunky with the message board posting, it's be a while since I was active on one!
