Here are a couple pics of our new roo, Morgan. He was given to us by JimnJanet, fellow BYC'ers.
We're wondering, not that it makes a difference, we love him either way, if he is a Rhode Island Red or a New Hampshire Red.
Any opinions? I'm leaning towards RIR, but I could be wrong.

He was named Morgan when he came to us, after the Captain Morgan commercial. I couldn't get a picture of it, but he's always standing with one leg up, like the rum commercial. It's a perfect name.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. We've got quite a few RIR hens and I was hoping to breed pure RIRs, as the hens seem to have more personality.

Yep, that there's a RIR.

P.S You mentioned you wanted to breed RIRs so just wanted to mention that when I brought my 2 rc RIR bantams to a show, the judge liked them because they were so dark. So I guess they like dark RIR's.

Thanks, everyone.

I wish I could have got a pic of him on the sunshine. His feathers just gleam.

I'm looking to breed just for my own use, my RIR hens seem to have the best personality, and Morgan is an astute gentleman. He's very aware of the kids, and lets my 4 year old actually pet him, so he's an excellent roo.
