RIR pullets or cockerels?

I’m just checking back in. They are 9 weeks old now and we are making plans to get rid of them if they are still roosters. (Weird thing to say… )

I think they are cockerels! Here are my RIR pullets at 9 weeks for comparison. You can see your boys have significantly bigger and redder combs and wattles. I could be wrong though! Not an expert.

Thank you! I really appreciate you including the pictures. It’s hard to compare with what a pullet should look like when mine all basically look the same.

Those lads would make excellent chicken and dumplings as my older friend Dick Hines used to tell me around 50 years ago when my cockerels would get to be this age.

That’s definitely one of the options we are looking into. At what age do you recommend butchering?
