I know this rir is aPullet she's laying gorgeous brown eggs.
She's 6 months old.
She definitely looks rooster to me. I do not have other rir to compare but the saddle feathers are surprising me.
No crow, egg song and daily egg.
Sweet gentle and friendly.
Those feathers!

Just trying to understand the feathers. Looks like a cockerel but lays eggs so just wondering whats going on.
Looks like a normal RIR pullet too me. The saddles are rounded, not pointed like they would be if she were a roo.

I had a hen who looked similar to this -- her tail feathers were slightly curved at the end, and she had a peppering of iridescent black spots.
Some hens just have shiny hackles, too.
She doesn't really say "rooster" to me, and if she's laying eggs, then I'd definitely say that you have a hen.
