Would they still be good egg layers? I'm wondering if it is worth my time or if I should just wait until I can locate RIW laying hens. They would be mixes.![]()
I don't have either of those breeds, but i would imagine so. We used to have RIR and they were good layers. Those crossed with another good laying breed usually results in good laying chicks.Would they still be good egg layers? What was the result of the cross? Was better for meat or eggs?I have ISA Browns that are a cross with RIR and another breed they are touted to lay 360? eggs a year. I will say they are prolific layers.
