So I've noticed a couple of my RIR's getting some blonde feathers. Googling tells me that's not normal. Could be a deficiency? Does anyone know what this may be and the cause? Thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the spots on their front? If so, that's just their feathers underneath, and not blonde feathers. Their feathers are ruffled.
Do check for lice though, just in case. As they eat away at the feathers it could make it easier to see the feathers underneath.

They are about 1 1/2 yrs old. I haven't seen them eating on their feathers or acting strange, but will check for lice. Thanks for the responses. Also, the guy we bought these from, over a year ago, had a few different breeds. Could be possible of a mixed breed also.

Hopefully there are no lice!
They definitely could be mixed. I don't think their leg color matches RIRs, so there's that.
