RIR vs. NHR???

Help! I am confused...I am not sure which girl is which!!

Ginger is on the left and Firecracker on the right. Who is the RIR??

Actually, neither are RIR, as far as according to type, really.

I'm sure they will be great red laying hens for you, and that sure in fine.

Your NH (there is no "Red" in the New Hampshire breed name) is on the left.

As far as the other one goes, there should be no white feathers on a RIR, so not sure about that one being a RIR, really. Other than the white feathers, it does appear to be a hatchery type RIR or even similar to a Cherry Egger, which is a production type NH/RIR cross some hatcheries sell.

I have NH and RIR, I think the one on the left is a NH and the one on the right is a production red of some sort. My RIR has red feathers over black, no white. Both look like lovely birds!

Wait so RIR don't have white in them?

The one I got my grandma has a white tail... Did I get jipped?

Red sex links have lots of white in them, so maybe that's what you have. RIRs do not have white in them, sorry.
