What do you think would be a good age to process RIR roosters? I would like to free range them as much as possible even though I have read that will make them take longer to plump up. For those who have free ranged RIRs, what age did you butcher them?
 
Butchered my rir roosters at 15 weeks and some at 18 weeks have 4 more to do next week at age 19 weeks. I like to do them before they start crowing. My white rocks where bigger at the same age of 15 weeks took a couple more weeks for the rir the get the same size as the rocks. Butchered all the white rocks at 15 weeks GREAT GIZZARDS MY FREEZER IS FULL
