Hello again everyone! I’m posting my newest babies (minus my Legbar, already know what she is haha) to start the ball rolling. :)

first 2 birds are now 5 weeks old. First pics are day old or a couple days, mid pic is a week or so, and last pic is a few days ago.

d’uccles are only 2 days old.

Red Jungle Fowl “Fitz” - believed to be female based on down colouring. Comb looks more red in pictures but is actually almost a lighter horn color.

Swedish Hedemora “Verity” - no clue whether male or female. Comb was relatively prominent at hatch, not so much after fluffed up. Silkie-feathered so no real hackle/saddle indicators expected. (Also my favorite so doesn’t matter one way or the other, it will be remaining in the

d’uccles, these guys are just tiny babies but I’ll add them here instead of making them their own thread. I like to have pics of grow outs for future reference. Lol.
Fanty (2nd to hatch, quieter/friendlier than the other, more fuzz on feet.)

Mingo (flighty, less fuzz on feet)

guess away peeps! I’ll update weekly from here on out til I know what they actually are. Lol.

Not sure on sex, but that silkied feathering is rare for that breed so you'll want to keep and probably get breeding
Yeah, I was super excited when it hatched! I had only ordered 2 eggs (all that was available) and this was the one that survived, the other had hatching complications and died while trying to zip. Trying to source more as I would love to have a breeding pen of these guys. Hard to find though. :)

Junglefowl and Hedemora look like cockerels. d'Uccle is much to young to sex.
Hm, what basis for the RJF? From what I’ve seen in the RJF thread, the cockerels look to feather in very differently and get a pretty prominent comb and wattles pretty early on.. this one looks much more pinkish in the picture than it is, and no wattle development at all - I know hard to see in the pic, though. But again, this is the first and only one I have with no others of the same to compare to, so...
The Hedemora I definitely agree, lol, lucky for it, it’s staying anyways. Haha.
The d’uccle are here so I can post more of them later as they grow. :)

That much comb at just 5 weeks.

Don’t know if a comparison shot might help a bit; the sebright beside the rjf is believed to be a pullet, based on how different it is from the obvious cockerel sebright behind them. It’s 6.5 weeks.

Slow developing cockerel for sure, for The sebright lol. It’s the nicer of the 2 so it’s staying anyways. :)

updated RJF and Hedemora:

The junglefowl has what I’ve read is all the female colors/indicators. Small comb, no wattles, red breast, no iridescent feathers in the tail. They are 8 weeks today.
The hedemora looks cockerel-ish to me still too, they don’t get big combs or wattles so I don’t know how useful those will be to sex. And with the wooly feathers I don’t know that it’ll get saddle or hackle feathers that will differ... it doesn’t act like a boy at all but who knows. It runs from the sebrights.
