Here's a quick unboxing video I made when it arrives. In a couple days I will do a record my first impressions of it after running it for a couple days with an independent thermometer to see how accurate it is.

this has been a journey so far - but it won’t reach completion until next year it turns out.

The guy from the biological research place in Slovenia stopped answering emails and eventually let me know that the order for the chicks was cancelled, but gave me no reason.

I got talking to some other random slovenians who I met online, and one called him on my behalf, the other went and banged on his office door. I imagine he got a bit of a shock.

According to him, they had some issue with the vetinary cert, that’s why the order was cancelled. I can re order next season.

The guy who spoke to him on the phone said he sounded dodgy.

I guess I’ll have to try again next year. I. The meantime if there is anywhere else in Europe I can find this breed or similar (brown egg layers that lay 310+ eggs per year and have good feed efficiency, and breed true) I’m all ears, and don’t mind importing or whatever other lengths I have to go to to get them!
