Rocks in the backyard?

I am new to chickens and I have ordered chicks that will arrive April 21.
I also ordered my coop and it will be here in two weeks.
My question is my backyard is all landscaping rocks!
I plan on removing the rock on the side of my house for the coop and run. But want to know if I let me chickens out of the run and coop into the yard can they walk on the rocks?
The run is 12 feet so I can keep them in there all the time but wondered if I could let them roam the rest of the yard or not!
