Hi all,

I am wondering which ronidazole is best, there is a 6%, 10%, and 20%. I’m treating two chickens who have already been giving metronidazole and acidified copper sulfate.

Thanks!

The dose for metronidazole I have been giving is one 250 mg divided into two, and giving one half in the morning and one half at night time. I gave this for 5 days and it ended today.

When giving the metronidazole and copper I did see some improvement in both of their mouths but it hasn't gotten rid of it yet. I am thinking that a different variation (ronidazole) might be able to help.

I can try to get new pictures but the lesions have gone further down the throat in both of them so I’m sure I can’t get it. I haven’t smelled a real ‘noticeable’ smell. I have not smelled their mouths recently though, I will do that tonight or tomorrow.

Here’s a picture of one of the lesions in Devs mouth, it was hard to get so it’s blurry. I will start the ronidazole today or tomorrow.

Do you know the dosage of the ronidazole and how long I should use it?

I used the metronidazole for 7 days and their mouths are getting slightly better, but the lesions are still there.
