ok i want to build my roos houses .1 roo per house with room to add a hen for breeding from time to time when i need firtile eggs .with a nice window and run for each roo. but i want to know how much floor space ,run space ,and hight each house should have? im also going to add hinges between houses so i can set them up side by side or seperate as needed.. heres my basic idea i used paint shop to mock it up.

For me, it depends on how your winters are when it comes to coop size. I'm assuming they'll be contained full time, since it's basically bachelor quarters? If I was doing something like this I'd probably do contained, elevated units...housing and run together. Will there ever be trios?
Maybe 6x4 runs with an elevated 2x4 housing at one end?? Normally I say use 4 or 8 ft measurements to avoid wasting lumber, but a 4x8 run might be pretty heave to move if you're talking moving them around to be side by side sometimes...unless you go with 2x2s rather than 2x4 lumber....

ok winers are hard here no id only put one hen to roo at any one time the coups will be able to seperate from runs and each other for moveing and the houses will sit up off the ground and the roos will have access to an outdoor run every day

I use pens as shown below. Roosters and hens both trained to come out, mate then be directed back into respective pens with eats. I can move pens easily like chicken tractors keeping birds on fresh grass. Pen as shown used for single mating where rooster is not hard on hen. Production and ornamental breeds may not be so forgiving.

Pens provide excellent ventilation during summer and with modest windbreak are suitable even on coldest winter nights so long as birds in good nutrition. They need cover from sun when it gets hot.

Very cool but with the snow we get these would be buried but thanks would make greet summer places

I have a taller version used as winter quarters. Structure tall enough for roughly 4 foot snow depth. For you needs, shorter version during breeding should prove adequate. Biggest advantage is construction cost. Using locally available materials when built in groups of eight, unit cost is about $30 not including labor.

Do you have any plans or item list please

Please note very crude procedure for construction. Power Point is not always my friend. PM or better yet call for better details. Go to my album entitled "Confinement".

These pens are not dog proof nor particularly good in themselves against foxes and raccoons. That weakness is readily remedied by other methods.
