Roo or hen

Is this a roo or hen?? Barred rock is the breed. So both in this picture were purchased at the same time. But they don’t look the same.

I believe they are roughly 12-16 weeks. Sorry for the bad pics. He/she isn’t the friendliest and doesn’t like to have pics taken.

that’s what I thought too. Dang it I don’t want any roosters!!!☹️ Here’s a close up of my two barred rocks and they are totally different and roughly the same age as I bought them together

That picture, with them standing side by side, makes it clear as day. He's a cockerel and they are much lighter over all in color. The pullet next to him is much darker. I hope you are able to find him a good home if you can't keep him. Craigslist is a good place to advertise, your state's message board in BYC is another good place, and your local feed store is another, if they have a bulletin board. Even just asking at feed stores can sometimes lead to a good new home. Good luck!
