I read somewhere(I'm sorry but it was over a year ago and now I don't remember where) that with silkie crosses the females always inherit the dark skin and shanks whereas the males will have lighter skin and shanks. It proved true with my silkie crosses, out of seven chicks (they were different colors, some were all white, 2 were red, and one chipmunk looking)2 had dark skin and grew up to be hens and the others had yellow or pink legs and all grew into roos. I don't know if it was just coincidence it worked out that way or not, maybe someone else has heard of this and can help! Good luck, they all look fabulous!

If you don't want roos, is definitely skip that all white one with the bright red comb at the bottom left of the 4th pic down! That beautiful one above it with the dark face and black splashes looks like a good choice! And the last 2 on the right would be my next guesses for females!

Well I picked up 4 of them. I am pretty sure one is going to end up being a roo, just from it's personality. It was hard to pick as the lady was catching them with a net and just handing them to me to see if I wanted them. I didn't really get a chance to watch them or look them over for any amount of time. I will upload some pics soon.
Either way, they are super cute, dalmation chicks! :)
