One of our 4.5 week old chicks has a more pronounced and redder comb. Our only Cochin bantam. Supposed to be sexed female but...who knows! Thoughts?

It's still looking like a girl to me. Some girls combs will get slightly pink and I found the mottled bantam cochin we had developed a pink comb quite early on, but no wattles. Keep an eye out for sprouting, red wattles - that's what usually indicates a little cockerel. The bantam cochin boys we had were already developing wattles by a month old and there was no doubt by 6 weeks old (they were crowing by then).

Whew, that's what I was thinking. Hard to compare when they're all different breeds. No wattle at all.
