Hi, my son has two dark Brahma chicks about 10 weeks old. He thinks one is a rooster. I’m not familiar with Brahma’s. Just wondering what you think.
Pepper the one with white feathers is the one he thinks is a rooster. Boots is the darker smaller one .

Yeah, dark brahma have very different color patterns for males and females. The first chick has the male pattern and the second chick has the female pattern.
 
Dark brahmas fall into the BBS category in colors. Black Breasted Silver. This means the roosters have black breast feathers and the hens have patterned feathers matching the rest of the body.

The head and neck feathers will be battered the same (roos are long and skinny) but the other feathers will be black until the long skinny saddle feathers cascading just in front of his tail.
