I have several Buff and Lavender Orpington chicks...They were straight run and I'm afraid BOTH of these Buff's are roo's :( I think at least this Lavender is a pullet.( I will post my other two lavenders and my cochins tomorrow when its light as they are in the coop not the garage like these guys). The Buff's are 6 1/2 weeks old and the Lavender will be 5 weeks on Friday.

My other question is one of the Buff's is not normal. He is the same age (give or take a couple days) as the other Buff but he is smaller than the Lavender who is two weeks younger. Also his/her feathers aren't coming in good they break off and the wing feathers are really short. Has anyone had a chick grow really slow and not feather out good? He/she eats good and has good energy.

Also if anyone is looking for Buff roo's in southern Cali and that is what these guys are I will be looking for GOOD pet homes.

Thanks!!

The first one is a roo for sure, and the second one probably is (but I'd wait a bit to be sure). The lovely lavender is a pullet.

Thank you for the advice. What kind of yogurt? Just plain? Do I need to cut up the hard boiled egg? Or just give it whole but peeled?

I'm glad to be on here there is SO much to learn
