5 week old California White and Australorp are two of our new little chicks. We are first time chicken owners. These two chickies are confusing us regarding thier sex. Any guesses would be so wonderful.

Bantamfan4life, For our edification what do you see in Pippie that makes you say Cockerel?

The comb is a bit large, but this is a cross that tends to have a fairly large comb anyway. I don't see any redness, really. At five weeks old, I would think a roo would be beginning to pink at least. Pippie is certainly not in the clear just yet, but I don't see anything that would make me say "definitely cockerel". Keep your fingers crossed.

that is what was confusing us. The comb is lighter than the color of my skin with no pink in it. Well this will be one little chickie that will be great for the Chicken sexing pictures. I am sure it will help someone else. : ) Thank you for taking the time to help us
