roo vs. hen genetics

ok when breeding for certain colors does breeding a certain roo to a certain hen work the same if it is reversed?
this is an example-a splash roo to a barred hen gives blue girls and barred boys.will it work the same if its a barred roo and splash hen?i am not interested in the barred color or the sex linked traits,just wondering if whatever color you are using if it works the same in reverse.sorry if this sounds confusing-but i am confused.

just thought of another example-people use BCM roos over ameraucana hens for darker green eggs.will it work the same if you use an ameraucana roo over BCM hens.will you get the same results?
